Elizabeth

My name is Elizabeth, and I am from Michoacán, Mexico. I came to the United States in 2000 in search of better opportunities. Living in the U.S. has definitely been what I expected. It is a country that offers many opportunities. I used to work in a hotel for 17 years, but now I own a restaurant. I feel welcomed in my community, but I do believe that we need to be more compassionate and united. I am very grateful for my husband and for the work ethic that I inherited from my parents. For my future, I would love to travel and see the world. I want to tell the people that just as I was able to make my dreams come true, anyone can do it. You just have to work really hard for what you want.

Mi nombre es Elizabeth y soy de Michoacán, México. Llegué a Estados Unidos en el año 2000 en busca de mejores oportunidades. Vivir en Estados Unidos definitivamente ha sido lo que esperaba. Es un país que ofrece muchas oportunidades. Trabajé en un hotel durante 17 años, pero ahora soy dueña de un restaurante. Me siento bienvenida en mi comunidad, pero creo que, como sociedad, debemos ser más unidos. Estoy muy agradecida por tener a mi esposo y por los valores que heredé de mis padres. En un futuro, me gustaría viajar y conocer el mundo. Quiero compartir con la gente que así como yo pude hacer realidad mis sueños, cualquiera puede hacerlo. Simplemente hay que trabajar por lo que uno quiere.
